The Swamp Rabbit Trail is a 22-mile green path that crosses along the old railroad corridor, Reedy River, and City parks to link Travelers Rest with the Greenville City. You can host a family picnic or take a walk around the trail, enjoying the greenery. What’s more, the trail is flat, making it easy for you and your loved ones to go biking.
Take in the green space of Cancer Survivors Park, Falls Park on the Reedy, and down into Cleveland Park as you venture south of the Swap Rabbit Trail. You can also head out north and appreciate the stunning breweries and eateries. Click here
Along the trail in town, you’ll find the bronze bunny. Although it’s hard to spot, you’ll smell crepes cooking and see lots of colorful kayaks across the street when you’re near its location. It was donated to the city by students of Travelers Rest High School.
Traveling south of the greenway, you’ll find two entrances to Furman University on your left after about .50 miles walk from Main Street in Travelers Rest. If you want to explore more, you can take a detour down the path to get a better view of the lake, clock tower, and beautiful campus.
If your bike breaks down, you can go to the bike fix station near Sulphur Springs Road. You can also check out the train car built way back in 1947.
After the tour, you can stop and get a bite in one of the awesome trailside restaurants. They serve delicious food that’ll help you reenergize. You’ll find plenty of benches and gazebos to sit and enjoy your meals.
For any outdoor leisure activities with your loved ones, the Swamp Rabbit Trail is the perfect spot. More fun
